Video made by 6-12th graders at Canton Central Schools in Upstate, NY. A bit tongue in cheek, but an excellent example of youth activism. These students have reached out to local representatives and are advocating for their district by voicing their concerns about the future of their school.
Right now I am taking Sociology of Education at HWS. Many of the issues voiced by these students we have discussed in length in my classes. Coming from a rural school, I am particularly sensitive to these issues that rural students face.

“Nothing compares with the experience of flying first class, said Geoffrey Fischer, a 33-year-old social media consultant based in Seattle. Even after his 15-hour flight on Cathay Pacific landed in Hong Kong, he did not want to get off the plane, he said. His seat turned into a full-size bed. He was handed designer pajamas to wear while an attentive flight attendant made up his bed, complete with a pillow, duvet and sheets.” (NYTIMES)
